Control and Letting Go

Why do we find it so hard to let go?

Is it because we are afraid of change?

Change can often lead to better circumstances, so why are we so afraid of it?

Do our habits and familiarities we surround ourselves with really provide ourselves with the comfort we think they do? OR perhaps they are what's keeping us stuck and stunting our growth.

We are supposed to experience life here in the present.

Why hold on to past mistakes?

Why worry about future events?

As someone who loves routine, letting go has never come easy for me. However, I am beginning to embrace change and learning to love what I cannot control. Experience has taught me that whenever I hold on to a situation or problem all it does is cause stress.

So WHY worry about what I cannot control?

I've realized the hardest part about letting go is discomfort. When we let go of our control we end up an unfamiliar place uncertain of how things will work out.

But, I believe nothing great comes from comfort.

Good is found in comfort, but greatness is found in discomfort.

To let go is to be uncomfortable.

Be flexible

Bend

Let go of attachments from the past.

Move forward into the discomfort and unknown.

Control is an illusion. The only thing we have control over is what is happening. The past does not equal the future. You create the future by the choices you make today. Ask yourself, what am I afraid of today? ...Nothing.
