Perspective
Hang upside-down down until you can see right side up!
I understand that in terms of biological make up, everyone visually sees things differently. You have a different amount of rods and cones within your eye to interpret things such as colour creating a truly individual visual perception. I often wonder how others see colours. Perhaps I love green so much because of the way my eye is constructed.
But there is the other side of perception, the one that has to do with that person's history and life lessons. A type of perception that is impossible to grasp.
This idea of varying individual perspectives fascinates me in many ways. I often think about how it is impossible to fully understand another’s perspective. I try to take that lesson forward with me whenever I meet someone new, or have a disagreement with someone.
A part of me believes this is why you get along with some people better than others. Your perception and interpretation of language, tone, and situation are similar. Therefore your point of understanding one another is familiar..
However, I believe you should always strive to change and challenge your perspective. It is something you have control over. You have the ability to shift your perspective in any given situation.
Detach yourself from your learned perceptions and rid yourself of the patterns that have accumulated out of history and habit. The more you let go, the more you can open yourself up to new perceptions.
