Physical vs Emotional Hunger

In a previous blog post, we defined mindful eating as making a conscious effort to pay attention to all the sensations eating brings you. Mindful eating requires you think and question the reason to why you are eating and to notice the emotional response it may cause.

This process forces you to slow down and QUESTION YOUR HUNGER!

Are you truly hungry?

OR

Are you bored?

Thirsty?

Or is it emotionally driven hunger?

Emotional hunger and physical hunger are two different types of hunger, though they can feel very similar and most people cannot tell the difference. However there are some distinctive traits between the two types of hunger that can help you decipher if you are truly hungry or if it is an emotionally driven response.
