Intention Setting
Intention Setting and Trust
Setting an intention should not be confused with goal setting. A goal has an expected outcome or can be evaluated where as an intention is something less concrete; it comes from the heart and elicits feeling.
Why Set Intentions?
Setting an intention before you start your day, workout, meditation or yoga practise is a great way to also practice becoming more mindful. Intention setting forces you to think about what you really want. When intention setting you are focusing your attention on your mind, body and heart while bringing it into the present reality.
How To Set An Intention
Put yourself in a positive state of mind when you set your intentions. Learn to be conscious and mindful in your choices to place yourself in a position of power. An intention should be aligned with your personal thoughts, values and perspectives on life. Intentions can be clear and specific, or something as simple as a word or phrase to focus on; such as peace or strength .
Ask yourself
- What is important to you?
- What would you like to let go of?
- When are you happiest?
- What are you grateful for?
- Who would you like to forgive in your life?
- What makes you proud?
- What fears would you like to let go of?
Trust the choices and changes that have occurred in your life.
Trust that the intentions you have set for yourself will unfold before you.
